Blast claims eight at SSP CID residence in Karachi
Posted On Monday, September 19, 2011 at at 9:35 AM by OwnerKarachi: Eight people including six policemen killed and around six injured when a car exploded outside the residence of SSP CID Investigation, Chaudhry Aslam Khan.
Sources confirmed that SSP CID Investigation Chaudhry Aslam is in safe condition as his house located near Darakhshan police station. Police sources confirmed that the death toll reached to eight and termed the blast a suicide attack.
Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area.
They informed that a car laden with explosives rammed into the residence SSP CID Investigation Chaudhry Aslam by the driver, resulting six cars destroyed completely while others partly damaged.
Eyewitness said the sound of explosion was heard in the area of five kilometer, which shattered the window panes. The blast created a deep creator at the site.
The injured were shifted to Jinnah hospital including many private hospitals.
Sources said that two passers by, a mother and her daughter among the deceased
Chaudhry Aslam said that he knew who was behind the attack and he would get the attackers. He said that Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were threatening him.
