Congo virus detected in two patients

 

After dengue, Congo virus has been detected in two patients at a private hospital in Karachi. So far 29 patients of Congo virus have been reported across the country.

Source close to Sindh Health Department told media that two Congo virus patients had been admitted to a private hospital. A special Congo ward has also been set up in the same hospital, sparking fear among staff and other patients. Sources say that hospital is trying to hide the information about patients’ condition. Congo virus is transmitted to human blood through cattle and goats. Sindh government has started insecticide spray campaign in different areas as the number of people succumbed to the dengue fever across the province reached 19. Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh focal person, Shakeel Ahmed told that number of people suffering from the menace rose to 1800. According to statistics provided by Sindh Health department, 236 patients suffering from dengue virus were being treated in different hospitals of Karachi whereas 131 patients in Hyderabad were diagnosed to have infected with the dengue.
Dengue is heading towards smaller cities after it gripped the relatively larger cities, as people are panicked on finding dozens of people afflicted with the disease. More 13 dengue fever cases came to the fore in Hyderabad during last 12 hours, raising the number of total affected people in district to 131.
